The petition that has spurred on Australia to reconsider the consent education in Australian Schools.

For the past few weeks in Australia the Consent Conversation has been one of the biggest headlines in the news. Chanel C a Sydney former Private school girl started a petition which has sparked a wide spread conversation around the Consent Education here in Australian schools.

Chanel’s petition has caused a much needed change here in Australia and made waves internationally. It is so very inspiring, brave and courageous of Chanel and the young women who have come forward to speak up.

To hear of so many young girls stories via chanel’s Instagram and website was not only devastating but shocking that finding evidence that the consent education for schools is so minimal. This is truly the wake up call the education system needed. Consent/intimacy/sex is all part of human development and part of who are are as people. The culture as it is now needs to shift for real change to happen and starts by having the right education and support for our young generation.

How Modern Intimacy will be helping fill the Gap:

Modern Intimacy has created workshops around Emotional Safety for young adults which highlight the importance of Respect, communicating and checking in throughout a sexual encounter and not just with each other with themselves too. These workshops involve focusing on consent and also focused on empathy and compassion when it comes to sex. These workshops are not the entire solution additional support to add to Sex Education for young people.

For more information regarding Chanel and her petition, please visit her Instagram @chanelc where she has a link to her petition.

All I can say is, that it is time. The time is now to make a true change for the younger generation.
